False Alarm And Then Not...

At my 37 week appointment, the doctor said he would not expect me to make it through the weekend.  Reminder--I wasn't due until March 27th but the doctor never thought I would make it that far.  Payton's parents were already preparing to come that weekend so we called mine and said everyone better get here FAST!  My team at school was very sweet because I still had Thursday and Friday to go before our families would be here.  They made sure I didn't MOVE at all pretty much.  I stopped going up the stairs at home; I sat as much as possible; I didn't lift anything; and no more walking!!!--I needed to wait until Friday at approximately 3:30 PM to have this baby when everyone would be here!  I told my team goodbye on Friday because I knew I was having this baby and wouldn't be back the rest of the year (and it was the start of Spring Break too).  So Friday came, the parents all got here and my sister with my nephew, and Friday went...

And Saturday came...and Saturday went...

And Sunday came...and Sunday went...

And Monday came...and Monday went...

And Tuesday came...and Tuesday went...

Are you sensing a pattern here?!  Since there wasn't a baby yet...and we had two sets of grandparents and my sister and nephew (and then even later my brother-in-law who flew in) at my house, we made the best of it with lots of yummy food, games, and fun!

Bryson waiting for his new cousin to get here...
Fun on the playground at Tin Roof BBQ
Lots and lots of walking...at least the kids enjoyed it!
Bryson is too cute!
Jesse (my brother-in-law) had never tried craw fish and since they were in season, we went and got him some!  My dad showed him all the tricks and the men really enjoyed them!  The ladies opted for something else for dinner!
We even had time to decorate cookies while waiting for Savannah....
We went on another long walk...
Lauren got to open a Big Sister gift from Grammie and Big Pop!
A new doll to take care of!
Big Pop showing her the paci for the doll!
She even got her very own diaper bag--a Bucee's diaper bag!
She was very serious about taking care of that baby!
Playing games on the iPad with Big Pop!
I thought a pedicure might get things moving along...nope!
But I did have pretty toes!
Lauren and Autumn getting their toes done!
Me, Autumn, Lauren, and CC getting pretty toes!
Cutie pie with Mommy!
Lauren's toes with a cute design!
She was quite proud of herself!
Being silly with Grammie taking selfies!
We had lots of time to play...lots of time...like days!!!
We even had time to clean the garage out!
I was in hardcore nesting mode as it was...so Autumn and Jesse helped me for an entire day clean out the garage!  14 bags later...and all day on my feet...still NO BABY!
Autumn made us pizza one night and it was so good!
Lauren had a blast helping too!
Typical face...
And while we're still waiting on Savannah...why not make chocolate covered peeps with Grammie?!
Lauren was testing out the baby stuff for Savannah... and then she got stuck!
Hugs from CC!
Playing with Grandad!
Lauren had dance on Saturday morning (which I was just sure she would miss because I was just sure the baby would be here by then...) and the grandparents all went with Payton to take her.  I stayed home to take a nap! :)
The grandparents all gathered by the very tiny viewing window to watch her--those dance moms didn't stand a chance that day!
I'm not sure how much "dancing" went on that day...
Everyone even helped get the clothes put away and do last minute touches on the nursery!
And then we also opened new presents one night!

And then Wednesday came and I had my 38 week appointment.  The doctor was pretty surprised (As. Was. I.) to be standing there...still pregnant!!!  We made plans to be induced the next morning...so now I was going to have this baby!  Payton and I left the appointment and ran to Target.  We had a special present to buy for Lauren...Savannah was going to "bring home" a Big Sister gift for her when we got home from the hospital!  I would really recommend this to anyone having a baby!  Lauren still talks about the gifts that Savannah brought her and really treasures them.  It's really quite cute!  After our little Target run, we headed out with the family to Humble City Cafe for a little dinner!

Payton is about to be a daddy of TWO girls!
And our last picture as a family of THREE!
Because....after dinner and a long walk with Autumn...
I thought I was just feeling tired and a little weak from our walk...
but really...this was happening!!!
I had no idea I was actually in labor and only downloaded that app (I took a screen shot of this weeks later) just "to see"...I also had no idea how to time a contraction; Autumn had to train me!  You would have thought I had never had a baby before...but the experiences were completely different!!!

Payton and I rushed to the hospital (seriously speeding the entire way and all-but running red lights...) after Autumn helped me finish packing my bag (I was really prepared, wasn't I?!)...I suppose I could have been working on that the last 5 days...and the grandparents all came once we called and said we were there and settled in.  Autumn and Jesse stayed at the house with Lauren and Bryson and had a "slumber party" while they waited to see what was happening!

Doesn't look like much slumber was happening...at midnight!

Stay tuned...the next post is the BIG ONE!
Hint--she's here!!! :)
