Watermelon Baby....

My child is a watermelon fanatic!  In fact, we have been going through about a watermelon a week because she loves it so much!  I can't even sit down to enjoy watermelon without her hopping up beside me with her mouth gaping open like we have deprived her of food!  Payton and I needed to run some errands downtown yesterday so we stopped at La Madeleine for lunch and what did Lauren spot in the case...watermelon!  She had a real lunch too but warmed up on this tasty fruit!

Chowing down...and using the straw in the picture as her fork...

Pigtails Cutie....

Lauren doesn't sit still too often to let me put pigtails in her hair...but Friday was an exception I guess!  I had just given her a bath and was combing her hair and she was sitting so still...so I thought...dare I try it?!  I got two little pigtails in AND bows!  She was so cute and smiling for me that I had to get a picture!  The best part is--she left the pigtails and bows in for a good four hours!  Now that's progress!

What a cutie!!!

15 Month Well-Check Visit....

Lauren had her 15 month well-check visit on Thursday and checked out just fine!  She wasn't too fond of the shots but did really well through them.  In fact, she was acting really great when we left (two Sesame Street stickers later because she was pretend coughing for the receptionist while I checked out...drama...queen....) so I was able to run a few errands while we were out.

Our first stop was Lowe's to pick up a few more things for the kitchen I'm making Lauren (blog to come when it's completely finished).  She DID have a really cute bow in her hair that she of course ripped out the minute a lady in the store said how cute it was--thanks random stranger lady...although I appreciate the compliment about my cute child, she was unaware the bow was sitting on her head until YOU pointed it out...anyways, Lauren threw the bow down and I was telling her that was yucky...and this is what she did...
Really?!  She plugged her ears so she couldn't hear me!
And then she kept them plugged until she thought I was done talking...

After Lowe's and a few other errands, I decided to take Lauren to lunch at Culver's since it was on the way home!  Lauren did great and had some of my salad and parts of her grilled cheese sandwich!

Poor thing was tired and hungry by this point!  It had been a rough morning with the shots and all!
Mouth full of cucumbers from my salad!
Playing with her grilled cheese sandwich!

A Few Lost 4th Of July Pictures....

I forgot to post these precious pictures of Lauren on the 4th of July!  Grammie Tammie and Big Pop sent her this ADORABLE dress!  Would you believe that I looked all over Houston for the perfect 4th of July dress...and found NOTHING that I liked...and then, my mom finds this dress in Portales of all places?!  Regardless of where it came from, it's too cute and Lauren looked so precious in it!

One of my new favorite pictures of her!  She just looks so sweet!
And then this...not so sweet.  The caption reads:
"Mother...are you serious?!  I'm not taking more pictures today!"
The 4th of July is YUMMY!
My Independence Day Cutie!
Sitting pretty in the house--it was a HOT 4th of July in Houston!
She's also showing me her ear!
Eating lunch at Panera Bread!
I hope you all had a great 4th of July!

Lauren's "Phone"....

Lauren's new thing is telephones...and she will use anything and everything to "talk" on a telephone...like her shoe!  Here's what happened...we were in the car and I heard Lauren saying "uh huh, uh huh, hellooer, uh huh, hellooer..." so through the rear-view mirror I checked on her and saw this:
Oh this child!  She just keeps cracking me up!!!
This has been become her new thing to do in the car now too!

A Little Snack On The Floor....

It was snack time in the Daugherty house and I gave Lauren a small cup with some Elmo crackers in it.  She decided to have her crackers...on the kitchen floor...with her Elmo sippy cup...with her socks pulled all the way up.

Enjoying her crackers!
Such a silly little girl!  I don't know why she pulled her socks up like that either!

Lauren's First Scraped Knee....

Our little wild child, Lauren, fell while running on the sidewalk and scraped up her little knees!  The right knee is the bad one, the left knee just had a little scratch.  Poor little thing!  I felt so sorry for her but she just hopped right back up and kept on going!

Ouchie!

Baby Doll Crib....

I was feeling extra crafty this summer so I decided to do a few projects around the house.  The first project was this magazine rack I found at Goodwill that I turned into a baby doll crib for Lauren!  Sure, sure, I could have just bought a baby doll crib, but this was made (er, revamped) with love!

Magazine rack from Goodwill--before!
I sawed the magazine rack bars out...
Then I put a coat of primer on it...
And lastly I painted it pink!
The finished product!
Lauren loves it but is a little confused that SHE doesn't go in the crib...her baby doll does!
There are dolls in the crib too...
In and out of that crib all day long!  I'm glad she likes it!

Houston Children's Museum....

Payton and I took Lauren to the Houston Children's Museum for the first time a few weekends ago!  The museum is still a little old for Lauren but they have a great area called Tot Spot just for toddlers!  Lauren had a blast in the Tot Spot and really wore herself out!
